和游河故事一样，画家还是采用了左页单色、右页彩色的画法。单色页类似铅笔素描，寥寥数笔的线条和简单勾勒，几近草图；彩色页叫人眼前一亮，水彩般的黄绿色调，鲜艳却不浓烈，给人田园般的恬静，清风扑面。
This is the sister chapter of the masterpiece "Going to the River with Uncle Gan". One day, Uncle Gan intends to go for a drive. His friends all ask to get in the car and go for a ride together, but it starts to rain halfway and the car gets stuck in the mud. Lambs, calves, chickens, sheep, pigs, etc. were unwilling to go down the cart. In the end, Uncle Gan says: "We broke down", and everyone disembarks from the cart. When they all part, Uncle Gan didn't forget to say to everyone, "I want to take my cart and come again next time."
